FAQ
How are participants selected, and how many people are in each cohort?
Participants are chosen by a selection committee from the MGRdev team. The committee reviews each application for the following:
Participant eligibility
Expected commitment to and engagement in the program
Perseverance to work through the inherent challenges of management and learning
Match between applicant need and program curriculum
A growth mindset
Strong collaborative skills
A typical cohort consists of between 15-20 participants, however the exact number may vary.
Where are the program workshops held?
We hold the in-person instructional workshops at the i-Hotel and Illinois Conference Center (1900 S. 1st Street in Champaign, Illinois, 61820) located in the southwest portion of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus.
How much does the program cost, and what is included?
The program fee is $600 per person and covers the cost of:
Workshop conference room reservation and use
A boxed lunch during each day of instruction
Supplies used by participants during the program
Travel, hotel, and other costs are not included and are the separate responsibility of the participant. All MGRdev team members are volunteers and do not receive payment for services provided.
What is required to graduate from the program?
To graduate, you must:
Attend at least 5 of 6 full-day (9 AM - 3 PM) classroom workshops for your assigned cohort
Attend at least 5 of 6 professional coaching sessions
Demonstrate active participation during classroom instruction
Demonstrate evidence of practice (successes and challenges) between classroom sessions
Can I take MGRdev at the same time as another professional development program?
Due to the extensive time commitment required by our program, we do not recommend applying if you are already enrolled or plan to enroll in another time-intensive professional development opportunity while attending MGRdev. However, you will not be disqualified if you are or will be enrolled in another program.
Ultimately, we desire your success and our recommendation is simply based on feedback from past program participants.
