Kaity Bequette
Program Coach
I am the Student Coordinator for Engineering IT Shared Services serving the Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois. Within Engineering IT, I provide support for hiring, orienting, supervising and managing up to 45 student workers across four different student teams including our Help Desks, Engineering Workstation Labs, Audio Visual Support and Scrap Surplus Services. I’ve been working in IT in different capacities for over 10 years and I graduated from MGRdev in 2015.
Going through MGRdev helped me mature in my career and I’ve applied many of its lessons and practices both professionally and in the community groups I’m a part of. I believe in progress over perfection and the power of a supportive community so I’m thrilled to lend my assistance to the MGRdev cohort this year as a coach. The program gave me the tools I needed to improve several aspects of management and while I’m still learning as well, I’m looking forward to reviewing the lessons and working with members of the cohort as we refine our management skills together.
